5 Tips For Keeping Your Pups Squeaky Clean & Smelling Fresh!

Invest in a high quality Shampoo and Conditioner.
I cannot stress enough the difference that a good quality shampoo and conditioner makes! As someone who just bought cheap pet shampoos from Kmart or Coles, the first time I used something high quality I was SHOCKED at the difference.

Regular bathing is essential to your dog's well-being.
It not only keeps your furry companion smelling fresh but also prevents skin issues and infections! The frequency of baths may vary based on your dog's breed and lifestyle, but generally, a bath once a month is a good starting point.
My Indoor Chi's are bathed fortnightly, however that may be overkill for some people, it really depends on your preference and how dirty your pups get!
For breeds with long or dense coats, like Poodles, Cavoodles, Shih Tzus, Pomeranians, and even pups who don't particularly like bath time, Professional Grooming can be a fantastic option! Grooming experts have the tools and knowledge to ensure a thorough and comfortable experience.

Freshen Up Between Baths

Between baths, use dog-friendly sprays & wipes to freshen up your pups. Look for products designed to neutralize odors, not just mask them!

When you think "Grooming Tips" Dental care may not come to mind, however good dental hygiene is paramount to a happy, healthy and stink-free pup.
No one likes bad breath especially doggy breath! It is super important to keep your pups oral hygiene just as healthy as their regular hygiene to prevent things like tooth decay, dental disease, plaque buildup and more! All which can lead to more bad odours in your home.

Brush their teeth regularly: Use a dog-friendly toothbrush and toothpaste to brush your pet's teeth a few times a week, if possible.

Dental chews and toys: Offer dental chews and toys designed to promote oral health, helping to reduce tartar and plaque buildup.

Regular vet check-ups: Schedule dental check-ups with your veterinarian to catch and address any dental problems early.

- Bones! Feeding Fresh Raw Meaty bones is a great way to reduce tartar and plaque buildup. Unlike humans, Dogs clean their teeth by chewing and grinding on food. (Be sure to always monitor your pups when they are chewing on things like Bones and Dental Chews)

Wash Bedding, blankets, toys, etc.
It may sound strange, but a clean living environment is key to a fresh-smelling pup. Regularly wash your dog's bedding, toys, and anything they come into contact with. A tidy space means fewer lingering odors.
There's no point bathing your dogs regularly if you aren't washing their bedding too, a clean pup is just going to go lay in their dirty bed as soon as you finish washing them, only leading to a dirty pup again.
Your dog's belongings, such as their bedding, toys, and feeding dishes can also become breeding grounds for bacteria and odours, which can be transferred to your dog. By maintaining a clean and odour-free space for your pet and regularly washing their belongings, you'll not only enhance their comfort but also contribute to their overall health and well-being. A clean home is the foundation for a happy and fresh-smelling furry friend.
